Project Description:
The Research and Transfer Centre (FTZ) Cybersecurity for Data-Based Evaluation of Security and Privacy Technologies
focuses on making artificial intelligence (AI) and data-based technologies more secure.
The project is funded from the IBW/EFRE & JTF initiatives and is conducted in collaboration with the
Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.
As AI is increasingly
used in areas such as industry, medicine, and energy supply, new risks and attack vectors emerge.
Our focus lies on so-called "adversarial examples" in face recognition systems: intentionally manipulated inputs
that can deceive AI systems – for example, slightly altered images that appear normal to humans but are misinterpreted by AI,
leading to incorrect identifications. We particularly consider low quality envorinments like ID documents and remote
enrollement / authentication.
